David,

RoR is a framework ... no a language.
So ig hello world with php is like :

echo "hello Wolrd";

in ruby this is like :

put "hello world"

people tend to think that RoR is a language .. NO this is a framework. The language behind is ruby.
Do before making any comment, please the time to test products, framework etc etc.
I'm used to code in php now, I'm coding in ruby and for eb app I use Rails ....

PS : I also tested some php framework liek cakephp which mimics Rails but nothing can be compared to the use of rails ....

Test it and you won't come back to php !

well? i know this is a long ago posting, but how was it, i was jsut reading a ROR 'tutorial' on getting started and jsut could not wrap my head arround how it makes things easier, for example to do a hello world you had to set up an entire config and it took 5 lines of code. with php is just 'echo hello world'.

maybe my wires are crossed, im still looking for simpler examples.
