DevLounge is its own "brand," and I don't want to see recycled articles from it's "network" posted on here as well. I mean, I'm fine with linking the sites on here, but anything more than that, and I'd be less tempted to visit here. The quality of the content posted as of late are pretty bleak as it is. I am in the process of overhauling my theme and Devlounge is one of my benchmarks. The comment that I have regarding content flow and Splashpress networking is that you may have an opportunity to take on some elements of a "news" theme. Specifically, 2 or 3 story column at the bottom. That way you can give the higher volume of posts the appropriate visibility/linkage they need... without cluttering the sidebar or the main post area.
