Like the design, not to many colors, which make you embrace the articles/text more.

Whitespace is always a winner =)

Just one tiny thing that could be better is the navigation. I think the navigation link should be highlighted, so you always know where you are.
Otherwise you can get lost quite quickly =).

I have to say that this is my absolute favorite current design of the blogs I read. You just knocked Derek Punsalan off of the top! Nice! But kind of rude...

Just one notice: standing at the most common usability guidelines, you should replicate the search bar at the top-right of the screen. I spent some seconds before seeing the search link….

Thanks for the suggestion. It's now moved to the top, which, hopefully makes things easier :)

@Vesh Welcome, glad to hear your thoughts. Designing is never a waste of time, because like anything else, the more you do something the better you get at it. In terms of this article, I was just stating how I went through so many redesigns in so little time, when it was truly unnecessary. On the other hand, my portfolio has had the same layout for over a year. I think that's the one that needs a redesign :P

Well, i really like the layout. Obviously any website turns out to be unbalanced on dome elements but after all, customers feedback will always be useful for web desiners.

Great work here. I just stumbled along this site recently so I cannot comment on how this compares with previous designs too much.

Design, Design, Design – Waste of time, time time

A nice rhyme you got going... but I think the more you design the more you learn. So really - no design is a waste of time. Maybe now you've learned that you don't need to redesign lol. In fact, I do like it and I can see how people would say it gets busier and busier as you scroll down. I certainly have no complaints. How can anyone complain. It is a great site that you are providing free and kudos to you for your work.
