Quick suggestion. I know this might be more work on your part, but perhaps you could say what you liked about the designs you found in the CSS galleries. Kind of like mini-reviews.

About the Google code search…
Code to me is personal. I like to equate the end-product to a fully dressed person. When the code is shown, it shows that person in a vulnerable state (such as, minimal clothing). I think that if code isn’t published in a forum, or in the form of an app or plugin, then it should remain private. Distributing and/or showing code should be the author’s choice, not a search engine’s.
