These blogs are stunning, my favorite this week is carfreaks but in my eyes all of them seem to have been built in the same general tendency: pure, clean square surfaces with matching colors.
That looks great but what about a more personal overall feeling?
Check this blog for example, not professional but warm, friendly and full of original touches:
www.insearchofdessert.com
Worth mentioning isn't it? A friend of mine designed it, he is not a designer...

Get enough coffee in the house, stop complaining and work. Make sure you've got a good insurance for the RSI you might develop somewhere between page 500 and 700.

Or, as a real geek would do, spend 4 months writing a program which automatically parses the webpages, cleans them and puts in the text in a db.

@Noel,

LOL. Quitting would be the ideal solution. However, converting 1000 tag-soup pages could be considered some good job security for a while. :)

"Congratulations. You’re a freelancer and you’ve been hired by a company to redesign its website and input the old content into a new content management system. There’s only one minor problem: there are over a thousand static html pages and all of them contain tag soup. What would be your approach for stripping out the content and inputting everything into the CMS?"

Simple; just quit.
