Wave for Wordpress
While I may have not been writing many new articles lately, I have been doing something else. With the success Prebuilt / Prebuilt 2 has had, I thought it was time to release a new theme, and that theme comes in the form of Wave.
Wave is a three column white / tan / red theme, sporting a clean look while remaining valid XHTML & CSS. Give it a look and download it today.
Leave all your comments about the theme here, as this is serving as the “Announcement Post”.
Note: This is not Prebuilt 3, but an entirely different theme.

Very good theme. Trying to find a way which could display asides instead of noteworthy entries.

I am trying to edit the sidebar, and I found that it is contained within the sand.php file however that does not edit the sidebar on the homepage, how would I do that?

Because the homepage contains noteworthy posts and single posts / pages don’t, I split the content into two different files. After you make changes in the sand.php file, copy the entire file and open beach.php. A few lines down you’ll notice div class = “sidebars”. Highlight everything including and below that, and replace it with everything from sand.php.
For the next release, I hope to get the php conditional statements down so it will only call the noteworthy div if you’re on the homepage.

That worked great, thanks.

Excellent theme!
How do I keep the post titles from bunching up?

Wow – really slick and clean theme. The only thing that bugs me is that you “hide” the search. It seems a bit out of place and it definitely looks better with the search openen (probably using the worn out look for the whole border-bottom of the search field).

well, there is a problem when i post more than 7 noteworthy’s….. the whole page gets messed up!
Want an avatar? Get a gravatar! • You can link to this comment
Tariq, there is no problem I’m aware of, and it would help if you could explain what the project is. If you want to post more than 7, you have to change the noteworthy function in the index. Refer to the readme.

Hi – I love this new theme and have downloaded and implemented it on my site. However, how do I make the main category show only 1 post. When I change the number of posts (eg:5) to show in Wordpress, it shows all categories, meaning if i had posted 2 noteworthy and 3 main category post,it’s going to show all but I want only 1 post to show in the main category.
I want the main category to show only one post and the noteworthy one to show watever number of posts I call in the noteworthy function. Am I confusing or wat? Hope people understand. Ha!

is it possible to make the entire white space bigger to accomodate larger text? if so, how do i do that? is it the “content main” part or the “news” part??
if I increase one part, what other parts of the css do i have to modify?
Also, why would the sidebar info slide to the bottom on the homepage?

I am trying to play with the wave-theme, which looks cool. But two things really annoys me.
First of all – it shows the full post. How do I get the theme to show only a few lines from each post?
Secondly – it is very hard to see how many commented on a post. You actually have to click and scroll at each posts. This is not very web 2.0-worthy. Is this a bug that can be fixed?

I’m using the Wave theme at http://www.SixFigureWriters.com. I’m having a problem, where every comment posted is showing up for the original post, even when they’re made on the most recent. Any idea how to fix this so that comments show up on the correct post?
Thanks!
Jenn

You must have edited the comment form somehow or the single post page, and it’s borking the comment hook. Drop me a line through the contact page and I’ll try to help you out through email.

Love this theme – I’m playing around with it, and I’m having some problems with the comments background colors – I’d like them all to be the same , but I can’t seem to figure out where in the CSS to make it happen.

Find comment-even and comment-odd in the stylesheet and make sure they’re the same

I’m trying to edit the noteworthy section to show only the title and not the rest of the story. What part of the code would need to be edited and what exactly would need to be done?

I’d tried contacting you via the contact form as requested, but hadn’t heard back. So I just wanted to check back and see if anyone had any thoughts on why comments would all be posting to the first blog post. I didn’t change anything manually, but was told elsewhere it could have been due to a plugin added. I’ve had some errors appearing elsewhere due to the revenue sharing plugin, but I have no idea how to tell if it’s causing the problem. Could someone please just tell me where I need to look to be able to try to fix this one? I appreciate the help.

Sorry Jenn, been way too busy with client work. I meant to reply a while ago.
If you didn’t touch the comments.php file, my guess is it’s coming fron the adsense plugin. Try turning it off and reuploading the original comments.php (just in case)

Thanks. It’s definitely something with that plugin, b/c when I removed it completely, comments worked fine. I’ll have to go bug the developers to see if they know what’s going on with it. Thanks again.

Is it possible to display the full date of a post instead of just the time of the post? Also I would like to reiterate Brett’s question about only showing the Title of the post in Noteworty

Hello,
Thanks for this awesome theme! I just have one slight problem. The 404 missing page that says “Oh no, you’re lost! It appears you’ve missed you’re intended destination, either through a bad or outdated link, or a typo in the page you were hoping to reach.” looks slightly messed up. Probably the stylesheet.
Thanks!

Hello,
today is first time I’m using wordpress. I love this theme! Awesome.
Now I tried to activate the noteworthy function but I failed. (http://webdeveloper.uk.com/noteworthy)
Could someone explain where the lines have to be exactly pasted? Thanks!
Want an avatar? Get a gravatar! • You can link to this comment
Nothing has to be pasted anywhere. Just create a category named Noteworthy. (See the Readme)

Oh ok! That was easy too easy!
Sorry.
The other “problem” I have is that the blogroll links are not shown with the wave design. Do I have to activate them in any way?

Hi AJ,
I’m really digging this theme, but I’m not a coder by any means, so I’m having some initial issues maybe you’d be willing to address.
1. When I created a new page to host my blogroll called links, the style went a bit awry. Check it out:
http://www.daveconrey.com/
Also, how can I get the sidebar into this page?
2. Whenever I place an image into any post or page, and I give it a target=”_blank”, there seems to be this small grayish bar that inserts itself between the image and whatever is above it. Here:
http://blog.daveconrey.com/?p=22
That gray bar also seems to become an active link as well, but only when I use a _blank target.
Thanks in advance. This theme is way cool.

Hi Aj,
I’m just a novice in reading html codes and I have a few things I would personally like to modify.
1. I’ve been trying to a sidebar on each side / 1 side so it would show all the blogrolls?
2. How do i get all the Recent Entries pages to show instead of a link?
3. I would like to add a logo on the Top left header where it says meilii. How would I be able to do that?
I love what you did with the theme and I think it’s brilliant!! Thanks for all your help. It’s greatly appreciate it.
Michelle
