And The Tweaks Continue

Round two of the homepage updates have now been completed. You’ll notice that the homepage sidebar is now a little bit more populated than before. Header images have been added for each section, to give some visual identification to each section. You’ll now find the four latest news briefs and side notes in the sidebar as well. Lots to click on, but it is all leading on into the site. That’s good, right?

I like how the site has more focus on the content and stuff like it use to. However, I feel you’ve gone a bit to “blah” with the site. Along with the interesting articles there should be something visual to spark interest rather then blocks of color and text. Your page layouts are great, It’s just very plain, simple, and stark. I love that style, but not always a good thing.

Also, the extra content on the side is fine. The easier the navigation, the better. Why look for it when it can be provided right there? ha Great stuff. Love the site, been a lurker for a long time. Never commented. Ciao.

I want to make you aware that in Firefox on Ubuntu the search button is actually underneath the search box forcing an extra line on the navigation.

I like the design but I’m getting bored of the many minimalist designs and this just seems like another one. I can’t fault your design capabilities as they are definitely better than mine but my personal opinion is that such a respected site should be creating trends not following them.

I agree Darren. I’d love to put together something new, but I barely have time for things as it is right now with a very hectic school schedule. That was one of the main reasons I went back to “just focus on the content and don’t worry about everything else”.
