Rolling on 2.1′s
To continue to show our support for the WordPress community, we’ve upgraded Devlounge to the first release RC1 of WordPress 2.1. I’ve gone through and checked pages and feeds and haven’t found any problems, but if you notice anything, please notice us immediately. 2.1 is looking very good and have some great performance improvements, and better yet, it’s due out in a final release next week! Thanks all for now.

Everything seems fine from here. What are the performance improvements? Can you name some specific?

Most of the improvements are on the backend, like a quicker loading dashboard. There are a few bugs I’ve found here and there in the backend that I’m sure will be worked on in time for Monday (the first public release of 2.1). Other than that, all is looking good.

Are there any significant new features with this version? do most plugins/themes work?

Can’t wait for the new release. I completely love WordPress and can’t wait to see what’s new and improved with the new version. I haven’t got the guts to prematurely install, but as you said, the final release is due very soon.
