Server Move
Important news everyone! We’re switching hosts, so expect some brief downtime here and there while we make the switch. This should improve performance around here because we’ll be on a VPS. ASO has been great to us during this initial year, and we were proud to be with them! Once again, expect a few bumps while we move things over, but it should be setup shortly.

Good luck =)
Just out of question, don’t you have the option of getting everything setup on the new server (and testing via IP), leaving this copy up for people and then (and only then) hitting the domain with a large stick so there’s a smooth transfer over 48 hours while DNS propagates?

@ Oli, even if you do that, there’s still random blips of DNS downtime. When I switched my site’s from one server to another, I made sure that things were ready to go with the files being copied over, and then I went ahead and changed dns.
A shortcut I used, because my site would bounce from the old server, to the new, and to a “refresh page” I would do:
start > run > cmd > ipconfig /flushdns
This helped when I wanted to make sure things were running smoothly on the new server; Few people saw downtime, but I made sure to have them flush dns. Works [almost] every time.

@Oli – And that is what we did. We had everything moved over prior to changing the namesevers, we just had to make sure all the paths on some of our scripts were correct.
