I guess you can add my vote to the tally to.

There's nothing like getting great ideas down on paper...

But that's not where they should end.

J offered some great tips, and some great insight into executing ideas, and Mind Mapping definitely helps.

I started using Mind 42 (http://www.mind42.com/) a while back and it helps add clarity to what I write on paper, and it also makes my ideas portable...

I would agree with Catherine, whenever i start a new project, the idea generating is done with pen & paper. This way i can sketch and scribble any ideas or inspiration, then develop the idea and evolve it as i go along.

Call me a Luddite, but for me it's all about paper. I've tried mind mapping software and online task management, but I keep coming back to a piece of paper and a pencil for sketching out ideas, lists, etc. I know, I know. It's very 16th-century of me. ;-)

But the actual strategies of incubating and executing ideas that you lay out here are as solid as they come. I wouldn't change a thing about those.
